You could Watch Award Winning Robot Movies by upcoming Directors
Robot movies was always a part of Cafe Neu Romance, but it was first from the second edition it got its own program with special focus on short film.
During the first edition of Cafe Neu Romance two American documentaries Bots High by Joey Daoud and J, Robot by Michael Garrigues was presented together with three small video performances by the humanoid robot RoboThespian produced by British company Engineered Arts, Ltd. and the short film Toward Intelligent Humanoids by IDSIA Robotics.
The year after, in 2013, one long documentary was screened, the award-winning Danish documentary Mechanical Love by Phie Ambo and two audio-visuals Skoda e-car and Fish Tron by Czech Industrial designer Martin Zadradník.
Interview with Joey Daoud, the American Director of Bots High, which is a documentary on teenagers, combat robots and competitions.
In 2014 the American Film Producer of Helicon Arts Collective's forthcoming RUR-movie R.U.R.: Genesis based on Karel Capek's drama, Bernie Stern presented the movie, in a year which presented the biggest robot movie program so far at Cafe Neu Romance.
The Opening movie was Alex Rivera's drone movie Sleep Dealer, and the audience could also hear one of the Grand Old Men of Czech Animation Jiri Barta presents the latest development of his Golem-movie project.
In the special selection for robot short movies, following film were presented in 2014: A Robot Walks Into a Bar (USA), Bibo (RUS), Flying Lotus - Kill Your Co-Workers (USA), Instrumental video nine (USA), Transparent Machines (USA), FIRA Robotics (GBR), In Safe Hands: my Robot helper (GBR), Lisa (USA), HENRi (USA), Brilux cleaning supplies adds (BRA), R.U.R.: Genesis (USA), Shelved (NZL), Golem (CZE), Golem (CZE), Desire (USA), Gumball Wars (USA), FRANCESCA DA RIMINI: Ballet Meets Robotics (USA).
In 2016 it was the first time a Hollywood movie was screened. It happened when the Oscar and Golden Globe award winning movie "Hugo" by Martin Scorsese was screened.
