CNR 2012: Participants: IDSIA Robotics (CHE)

The IDSIA Robotics Lab was founded in 2007. It is a laboratory to apply artificial intelligence methods to various types of real robots: mobile robots, manipulating robots, and humanoid robots. It is part of IDSIA, the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence, a small but visible research lab located in Manno-Lugano, the southern part of Switzerland.

The IDSIA Robotics Lab has been involved in a number of European, as well as, Swiss research projects related to robot learning and autonomy. Apart from the IM-CLeVeR project involving the iCub humanoid, we are currently also involved in projects investigating swarm intelligence and brain-computer interfaces.

For "Toward Intelligent Humanoids" IDSIA Robotics worked together with Tomás Donoso, a US based photographer, writer and filmmaker. He has photographed everything from lobster divers and organic farmers to professional climbers at the peak of their careers, and published in various magazines. Recently he begun exploring both writing and filmmaking more seriously.
