CNR 2014: Live: Opificio sonico (ITA): Toa Mata Band

Toa Mata Band is a toys robots band playing live some tiny synthetizer and each member is controlled by an Arduino Uno which is hooked up to an iPad running a MIDI sequencer app.

The concept of the Toa Mata Band is created by Giuseppe Acito aka Opificio Sonico was born in Taranto in south Italy in 1967. He remained there as he grew up and was educated in public schools. He decided to seek music career and in 1990 he moved to Bologna to attend the Music Conservatory G.B. Martini in the Electronic music and composition course.


In while in 1992 he attended Sound engineering course at Fonoprint Recording Studios in Bologna. After graduation in 1995, he started to operate as free lance in the music business as sound designer and producer of electronic music under many alias.In twenty years of carrier he worked both in studio and live for major sound company in Italy and a lot of popular artists. The passion for electronic musical instruments and computer music, make of Acito an expert in MIDI, sound synthesis and digital processing of sound.
