CNR 2014: Competitions: Tour the Stairs: The service robotics competition 2014: General Info
All kinds of mobile autonomous robots (minus LEGO MINDSTORMS robots) can participate. The maximum width of the robot is 50 cm, and the maximum length is 100 cm.
The robots shall be constructed and programmed in a way that it will not damage the area around and at the stairs, and it should be easy to stop (with an emergency stop button) if the worse case happens. The participants are responsible for that their robots keeps these conditions.
Task description for Tour the Stairs:
The Service Robotics Competition 2014
In the first competition this year the goal is to create a robot,
which is able to autonomously walk / climb / crawl up the
stairs. In the future the service robot competition will raise in
complexity.
Competitions
The competitions takes place at Galerie NTK, Saturday 29th
of November 2014 from 9 am to 4:30 pm.
Award ceremony for the winners will start around that time. Single
persons and teams can participate.
NB: If there are more than 12 teams / single persons signed up for the competitions, the competitions will start on Friday 28th of November 2014 from 5pm and run to 11pm.
Note: All participants can practice with their robots at the Gallery from Thursday to Friday during the opening hours of the Gallery if it doesn't collide with other activities. However, the participants must be aware of that the visitors of the Gallery are able to walk up and down the stairs.
Hospitality
Vive Les Robots!, the organizer of the competition, offer
refreshments, like soda or water, plus light snacks to the
participants.

is the adviser of the competition.
NB!
The organizers will not be under any circumstances held liable
or responsible for any accidents of the participants or any damages
caused by the participants, their robots or their
equipment.
