CNR 2012: Participants: Anouk Wipprecht (NDL) & Daniel Schatzmayr (AUT)
Anouk Wipprecht is a Dutch fashion designer of wearable electronics and hydraulics in the emerging field of techno-couture. Her work is a rare combination of sartorial know-how, smart textiles, micro controllers, and sensory systems. She seeks to create electronically enhanced designs projected as an extension of the body. Coming from a fashion design background, she started to explore interaction design and robotics in order to animate her dresses. Wipprecht is curator of the TECHNOSENSUAL 'Where fashion meets Technology' exhibition about electronic couture, and is currently based in Vienna/Austria.
bio DANIEL SCHATZMAYR
Vienna-based Daniel Schatzmayr is software developer with a deep rooted interest in hacking robots and robotic technologies. He started programming at the age of seven on a C64, and ever since he is fascinated by computers, software, electronics and the possibilities that occur when you merge them. As a member of the Viennese hackerspace METALAB Daniel approved the basic idea of technology-based creativity in social space and benefits from and contributes to the open source concepts of this group. Exploring the realms of fashiontech, Schatzmayr recently started to collaborate on a serie of robotic dresses.
