CNR 2012: Exhibition: LEGO® MINDSTORMS® School Tour in India (IND)

Open Robotics Club and Vive Les Robots! arranged this joint event for Indian students with LEGO Mindstorms kit during the summer time 2012. The aim of this tour is to promote robotics education and robotics technology across India. The huge developing country has a good position in the IT sector, but in the field of robotics Indians are not so much aware of this technical revolution and the Indian government is not investing enough in this field.

The vision of this tour is to educate and to provide live experiences on robotics to Indian students and other people through media and social networking sites like facebook and youtube. In this tour, schools private schools or government schools were chosen and approx. 10 schools will be covered. The tour started from the Middle region of India then to the Western part of India and after that to other parts of India.


Reactions on the LEGO Mindstorms School Tour:
Archit Sharma, a student from 10th standard of Sarswati Shishu Vidhya Mandir school, who also led the boys' team, told Open Robotics Club "All students enjoyed a lot throughout the event and are very happy to learn, build and compete with their robots, LEGO Mindstorms kit is awesome, easy to build and easy to program."

The Principal of Sarswati Shishu Vidhya Mandir Mrs. Geeta Nayak, who has been associated with the school for more than 20 years, congratulated us for this tour and appreciated our efforts in creating awareness about robotics. She was even so much happy that she told us that she will tell about our tour to other institutions. Also when students came to her for their future counseling, she will give information to the students about robotics field and choose robotics education as a major career building option."

The equal participation of boys and girls in the session was really encouraging for us. The faculty members and the staff were also very supporting. They told us that they wish to organize more programs/events related to robotics and technology in their school and she gave the best wishes to joint program of Vive Les Robots! and Open Robotics Club.

Cafe Neu Romance - LEGO MINDSTORMS School Tour in India

Open Robotics Club is an Organization of students, which has been working at least for two years for the awareness of technology especially in field of Robotics and Research.

 

Cafe Neu Romance - Danish Embassy LOGO

The Danish Ambassador's Deputy Lars Kjellberg of The Danish Embassy in the Czech Republic will visit the exhibition and hold the opening speech before the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® ROBOTS DAY.

 Open Robotics Club will exhibit images recorded on the LEGO Mindstorms School Tour in India during the Cafe Neu Romance festival (27.-29. of November 2012) at the Galerie NTK.
