Watch award winning robot movies and discover some of the best European robot sound performances from Italy, Russia, Czech Republic and Slovakia at CNR 2014.
21 robot movies / music videos / tv-commercials / animations / documentaries will be screened during this year's Cafe Neu Romance.
Wednesday 26 November "Sleep Dealer" and "A Robot Walks Into a Bar", will be screened at Institute of Intermedia (IIM). The opening movies of Cafe Neu Romance 2014 are directed by Alex Rivera (USA), a young talented director, who have archieved multiple awards at the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival for his feature film Sleep Dealer.
The day after three works by Beeple (USA), who have collaborated with electronic acts such as deadmau5, Skrillex, Avicii, Zedd, Taio Cruz, Tiësto, Amon Tobin, Wolfgang Gartner, and Flying Lotus, and which short films have been screened at onedotzero, Prix Ars Electronica, the Sydney Biennale, Ann Arbor Film Festival will be presented.

The film program of Cafe Neu Romance will end Friday 28 November, where the audience can meet the producer of the first R.U.R. film for ages Bernie Stern from Los Angeles (USA), who earlier has worked on big budget projects like "Life of Pi" and "The Pacific", when he is giving his talk "Alternate Barbarella and Artificial Humans", plus watch the behind-the-scenes documentary " FRANCESCA DA RIMINI:Ballet Meets Robotics" by Tarik Abdel-Gawad (USA) & Ashley Rodholm (USA), who both are collaborating with the innovative Bot Dolly team that recently won the PRIX ARS award at Ars Electronica, for the robotics short "Box".

Sound & Performance
At Cafe Neu Romance 2014 you can discover the Italian Sound Producer and Electronic Musician Opificio Sonico when he is performing with his Toa Mata Band, which is discribed the World's first LEGO robotics band, the Russian new media and robotics artist ::vtol::, the Swede Per Holmquist and his Beat Blox project, the Czech robot band created by Stanley Povoda, and the Czech-Slovak Sound Poetry Performance " Trans(who?)man" by Olga Pek & Zuzana Husárova.

::vtol:: will show his tattoo sound controller "Reading My Body", which is a special instrument that combines human body and robotic system into a single entity that is designed to automate creative process in an attempt to represent the artist and his instrument as a creative hybrid.
